There are some situations where compassion for Jekyll is needed. He just really wants to do what he would like, so he creates Hyde, this makes all of us feel a lot of sympathy as a result of desperateness of his situation, but simultaneously he loses some compassion because not everyone can have got everything they desire. Initially this individual doesn’t know what the consequences of taking the drugs will be, he could be risking death for the furtherment of science, which might give us several sympathy.
