The films “Grease” and “The Breakfast Club” feature a similar strong topic: finding your identity. This kind of theme is usually universal through many ebooks, movies and even real life. The fact that these two films were filmed to date apart, “Grease” being shot in 1959 and directed by Randal Kleiser and “The Breakfast Club” in 85 directed by simply John Hughes, shows that this can be a strong idea that stays throughout the market.

These movies have many character types that can be when compared with one another. The primary characters happen to be Claire Standish (played by Molly Ringwald) and Exotic Olsson (played by Olivia Newton-John) and John Bender (played simply by Judd Nelson) and Danny Zuko (played by Ruben Travolta). The ladies are your typical secondary school “girlie-girls” and the guys are your normal high school “macho men”. There’s also a couple of much less important personas in the motion pictures that can be in comparison such as Andy Clark (played by Emilio Estevez) and Kenickie (played by Shaun Conaway). They’re the kids who have think they’re the big guy on grounds and much better than everyone else.

The first clear comparison is recognized as a prime ladies of the film. Soft sand Olsson was obviously a sweet, quiet girl when she initially arrived at Ridell High. The girl felt convinced of very little entering the school, but when she joined a new group of close friends and noticed Danny Zuko’s real persona, she noticed that she has not been really the form of person that she wanted to always be. With the help of her new good friends, Sandy altered herself completely.

On this path of breakthrough she was totally changed in her looks and personality. The girl went via shy and unnoticed to sexy and confident. After the alteration, there was an occurrence that made her realize that she was great the way the lady was and didn’t ought to change for everyone. In that time, the girl lost her true self trying to be something she wasn’t and then discovered towards the end that your woman was usually who the girl really wanted to get and no you could change her. Clair was obviously a stuck up, pretty, well-known girl for her college.

No one required her seriously. Stereotypical “pretty” girls usually are ditzy. That may be just what people assumed of Claire. After she got stuck in detention with an unusual group of kids, kids she would normally have never interacted with, your woman slowly started to come out of her shell.

Staying in that fresh group of people was obviously a way for her to let her true home out without worrying about persons judging her. As the group of detention goers got closer and got to know the other person better, it became apparent that Claire had not been just a silly, mean, quite girl with a lot of money. Your woman was nice and smart. Her day in detention presented her true identity, and let her along with all others discover whom she really was.

The next evaluation is between Danny and John. Danny Zuko was your leader with the T-Birds, the schools big company of well-known guys. He was the heartthrob of the university and his identity was taken from people’s jaws left and right. The word around the street was that Danny Zuko was a tough, badass guy and he didn’t care about nearly anything besides himself, his T-Birds, and looking awesome. It was slightly hard to disprove this kind of though because that is precisely how Danny acted in front of everybody.

He was the epitome of a macho guy. The only period that having been his true self was during a summer time before institution when he became adoringly obsessed with Exotic. He allow his smooth side show with her, but as soon as college started again, he was returning to his aged ways.

This caused him to lose Exotic, and this in return cause his realization that he was his true self with her and he wanted to be that once again to make her happy. Right at the end of the film, Danny offers transformed himself into the wonderful sweet jock that he thought Soft sand would love, simply to realize that Exotic had converted herself intended for him also, and they both equally discovered that they liked themselves and each various other just the approach they were. The same character to Danny would be John Bender. He was his school’s normal macho gentleman who wouldn’t take anything at all from anyone or allow anyone simply tell him what to do or perhaps how to behave.

That is just how he got in detention. At the beginning of the film, this individual kept up greatly together with his badass associate. But through the film, the youngsters in detention became closer and they all got to find out one another. The actual side of John Bender that came out was that his life at your home was pretty tough and this caused him to have a rough exterior.

The children in detention as well as the target audience saw previous that even though as the film advanced. The was obviously a part of the film where all of the kids were about to get caught leaving detention and Steve sacrificed his own home to save the rest from getting in trouble once again. This showed that having been compassionate and never so independent afterall. Following breaking down his rough outer shell, the children in detention saw who John Bender really was, and why he acted how he would.

Some of that was understandable and they all became close friends. John let his the case identity glow to everyone. As far as idea goes, the theme of equally “Grease” and “The Breakfast Club” had been pretty common.

The way they were showed though made these people more interesting than any other films. Demonstrating the quest of obtaining your identification through multiple characters shows the film viewers more to relate to and helps people to enjoy the movie even more. Whether you’re the badass, the jock, the popular girl, the nerd, the psychotic, or the self conscious girl, you can relate to one of these films. Obtaining your identification is something that every person must go through in their lives. Which makes the idea universal.

These two films associate well together to show that you will always get, it may be harder or much easier for different people, but in the finish you will be able to find your true identity and become happy with the person you happen to be, and be accepted by other folks.
