My parents determined that I should go to the United States, mainly because they believed that the U. S. provided a more sophisticated and forward-looking business management education. My father was quite successful in China as a businessman, nevertheless he believed that the universe was changing, and that it was essential that his child have some grounding in the new economic truth of the global marketplace to get equally powerful. He also felt that China’s perspective of the worldwide marketplace has not been as advanced as America’s, and that a great aspiring businessman could gain much from learning about the American point of view and approach to management.
At my father’s life-time, he found capitalism have root in the home country, modifying China for the best. China, through fits and starts, started to be freer, even more open to fresh ideas and ways of existence, more profitable, and more tolerant of different ways of looking at the world.
