International Coastal Clean-up

Ocean Conservancy’s International Seaside Cleanup is the world’s most significant volunteer effort for ocean’s health. Every year, thousands of volunteers from over the world participate, removing tons of rubbish from coastlines, rivers and lakes and recording every single piece of garbage collected. On a beautiful, warm, sunny and a little bit rainy Saturday, we participated in the Annual International Coastal Washing at Independence Island nearby the Manila-Cavite Highway. It began at eight: 00 am and was well prepared.
We brought our own bags, gloves and even sticks to grab the trash with. We all patrolled outdoors looking for litter and found primarily small items like bottle of wine tops, cigarette butts, shoes and boots, slippers, plastics and foams. It was saddening to see just how much plastic you truly find on a relatively “clean beach.
I cannot think of an improved place to become than for the beach and took the freedom of taking dips in the sea to cool off from time to time so it hardly felt like am employed at all and the most of all, that felt very good to be helping out.
All of us cleaned for any good two hours and at noon, we were offered drinks and participated within a group photo for memories and paperwork purposes. We are all connected to the water. And we’re all responsible for the trash we leave behind, whether we imply to or not. All of us joined this global motion that is helping the water, spent just one day of removing rubbish from our shorelines and rivers.
