Heres the $600 my wife, Barbara, and I acquired from the tax cut. All of us figure that the families of your members, specifically from local 32Bj, can use the money more than we can.

Dear Andy:

My personal sincere condolences to the SEIU members and families who had been affected by the tragedy at the World Trade Center the other day. The list of people I knew personally who will be missing develops daily. It was a horrific and mindless deed. I wanted to send my own check, which can be matched by Schroders, to you as soon as possible.

My 12-year-old son withdrew $50 via his family savings. I described to my own son I might match the $50.

I am a MOC whom recently came up on staff with Regional 503. The commitment I see from the members is such a affirmation of how come I so strongly trust in unions. Assemblage are so fundememtally important in at this time every time a sense of community seems harder and harder for connecting with. The Dept of Revenue, Regional 150, leadership is definitely engaged in an aggressive campain to entail the lower paid workers inside their agency by doing one on one associates with five identified work areas. The activists happen to be introducing themselves, and discovering what the staff need. Fairly basic products, but frequently shyed far from by market leaders because you have to put yourself and your philosophy out in the open. The general membership is responding, over 30% with their members joined the regular monthly meeting (thats about 200 members), people unannomously voted to send 500. 00 us dollars of their treasury funds for the SEIU alleviation fund, the leaders have got set up collection cans during their intricate for individuals to make regular donations for the SEIU Relief Fund, as well as the local has plans to revisit one more 500. 00 dollar give your word next 1 / 4 for when the attention in the public may well start to waver. The people will need help long forward6171 when at the moment they cant imagine their demands. I am speaking from experience?nternet site lost my dad, a State Officer, in 1967. The fact that individuals who have under no circumstances met give what they may to strangers in need is so reassuring. Its an indication that there is a massive resevoir of power that sometimes just requires a common path. sorry about the bad punctuational, thanks for listening Timothy

I published the following as I was aiming to come to grips while using feelings I had formed regarding the occasions of Sept 11, 2001.

Passing through Hell

No caution

Melting Steel

Breaking Minds

Out of the blue

Morning sky

Creativity had not eliminated there

Astounding weapons

Unspeakable targets

Getting through Hell

Moaping Ashes

Manage for your existence

Wait for Guidance

Where do we go?

Not again, Oh no, you should God not any

No Effects

No poor movie

She was a great executive

He was a fireman

She was obviously a janitor

And oh incidentally

it was the apprentices 1st day

Passing through Hell

Paper prints are all over the place

Have you viewed

No, My spouse and i havent

Our members are missing

My friends are all gone

And yet Getting through Hell

Humankind rising

Running towards help

Are you OK?

Big cat like bravery

People suprising

by acts little and large

Passing through Terrible

Dont fault me

Desired Dead or Alive

Who may be that guy?

Whos in charge here?

Would it be out of order

Or maybe insane

To just become praying

I used to be not directly damaged but my family was, however it has a cheerful ending. I retired 36 months ago as a staff person with Neighborhood 668, SEIU, PSSU. We work at SEIU Headquarters in DC, although I was in a conference in NYC when needed of the attacks. I sensed the injure and misery all around me personally in the city for the day . 5 that I was stranded right now there. It was while tangible while the substance smell up. I came up home to DC simply by train, since the air-ports were every still closed. Many people in Penn Station voiced concern within the lack of secureness there inside the chaotic smash of people looking to leave the city. Sure enough, the train was halted for a bomb scare as we acknowledged Newark. One thing that became very clear in my experience, is that we cannot law enforcement our method to peace either at your home or in foreign countries. The freedom we cherish can easily be achieved with a basic level great will. No qualtity of authorities presence may secure Penn Station or perhaps most of the general public spaces we all travel through every day. Our culture works, because people feel they may have something to get and something to get rid of. We need to think about what it is that drove the terrorists to such serves of paralyzing desparation. True Peace is not merely the absence of violence, but the presence of Justice.

My own cousin is a firefighter, my father is a retired police officer, my own sister can be described as federal employee, and I i am a state staff. This event could have very easily happened to mi dinastia.

Upon Tuesday, I had been returning via beautiful San Luis Obispalía when I started up the TV within my hotel room to hear the news during while I was getting attired. When I saw so what happened, my 1st thought was what under developed country WAS attacked by terrorists i quickly realized it absolutely was New York City. We realized at this time ALL our lives have been improved forever by this cowardly work.

All week long two televisions have been turned on at the office to let all of us know whats going on. My own first thought was from the Port Expert men and women whom I attained last year on the SEIU Conference in Pittsburgh names I have forgotten but whose kindness to my personal local have made a draw on my cardiovascular.

Every day, every night, all year long I have been telling my co-workers that we get family in that building, associated with the kindness of various other SEIU locals to all of us and that now is our a chance to give back in a BIG approach.

And now with the upgrade to the SEIU website, I realize we have more family members included. Words cannot express my own sadness, but I know my own action will. I am reminded of the slogan employed by Andy Demanding: Pray to get the lifeless, fight for the living. I pray every day for the souls coming from all those union brothers and sisters who showed me (and my local) kindness and support through the years and I fight for the living, their loved ones.

Individually, I will be adding financially increase in forwarding the e-mail send from Andy to all my personal co-workers. I am asking the members (and non-members ) to reach EXTREMELY deep to their pockets to contribute as well. To think of the lost, of the mother, daddy, brother, sibling, and good friend how can we not act?

In person, I will be forwarding a check to get $100 to you by the end from the work day since the great group of SEIU is at need, and just how could I do anything less?
