tale of products reflection essay
A very interesting stuff story by Annie Leonard – The Story of Stuff which usually tells you just how stuff functions in twenty minutes video. It is an interesting story and here is my reviews and summary. I do agree with almost all of her details but not every one of them. I agree with her because she stated “this product is in fact in crisis because it is a geradlinig system and we live on a finite entire world and you simply cannot run a linear system on a finite globe indefinitely”.
Personally, i love and agree with this statement. The key point “Extraction” is “We’re running out of Resources”, I absolutely agree with this kind of. The reason is merely due to reality we’re employing too much items that is not essential. I’m surprise with few facts that mentioned simply by her such as 80% of the planet’s original forests have passed away, losing 2k trees one minute in Amazon . com and etc.
In the section “Toxins in, Poisons out” she said, we use strength to mix toxic chemicals in with the natural assets to make dangerous contaminated products.
These types of contaminated products such as computer system peripherals include BFRs which can be very very toxic to the brains and in the end inside our can certainly breast dairy. I don’t think toxic inside the CPU is definitely flying around in the air. One more ridiculous case she tries to use is declaring there are harmful toxins in our cushions. I think she is using the wrong example make an impression us. The main element point that she really wants to bring out is, “we ingest too much”. We take in over that which we suppose to eat and not only that, we’re motivated to do that to keep the material going. Another important level is the “Planned Obsolescence” that i also very accept this.
A few products are really designed in such a way… Another thing is the advertisement which eventually triggers “Perceived Obsolescence” that convinces us to throw away items that is still properly useful. Now i am not sure perhaps the system is in crisis or not now yet eventually it will eventually I believe. It is just a matter of period but what we could do is to delay this and not to fully avoid that. It looks like your woman believes that may be something possible.
The first thing that we want to do whenever we seriously desire to solve this problem or turmoil is to reduce the world inhabitants. With fewer population, usage will be fewer, resources will be used less also and toxics less as well. The second thing we can do is to consume what is necessary. This is not only great to the environment but also good for our own personal fund.
